Periodontal treatment

Periodontal treatment

1st visit

Gum bleeding should not be ignored. If you have problems of that sort, please know that you need therapy. After careful examination of dental status, oral hygiene levels, presence of calculus and tartar, gingival inflammation, we can suggest what kind of therapy will suit you best. During first visit it is common to do in-office plaque and tartar removal and polishing, with assessment of periodontal pocket presence and its size. Also you will be given instruction for maintaining better hygiene and some mouthwash if needed.

2nd visit

Following sessions usually consist of periodontal pocket cleaning. Under local anesthetic, pocket is cleaned with curettes, various hand pieces and medicated. Therapy is repetitive, appointment by appointment, pocket by pocket, until periodontal disease is under control, there is no more bleeding and your oral health status improves.
